Welcome To The

Over the last thirteen years, I've been helping adoptive parents learn to become a calming force, disarm their children's fears, and build healthy connections.

Sure, this About Page shares a little bit about me, but it's really about YOU.

It's about how you can leverage the knowledge and experience I've gained over the years to finally break through your challenges and achieve the results that you've been looking for.

How It All Started.

While on a mission trip to Ukraine n 2004, my heart was broken for the orphans I met there. Deciding to adopt was an easy decision. However, I was unprepared for how trauma affects children who have to be separated from their birth parents.

After adopting in 2005, I quickly realized I was out of my depth. Even though we already had six biological children, the parenting strategies that we were using with them were not working with our adopted daughter.

Facing Big Challenges.

I found a therapist for our daughter and started taking her. However, finding the right therapist took time. It was helpful during the sessions to begin to understand what was driving the behaviors. While it was helpful to understand the the "why" there was not a bridge to the "how" to do things differently in everyday life in our home environment. In addition, by the time I found the right therapist tensions were very high in at home. At this point, we had all been living with the daily stress that trauma and a child stuck in fight, flight freeze brings, for years. The hours-long meltdowns, the lashing out physically, the child who is in crisis requiring constant attention while the other children get put on the back burner and learn to not make waves, so their needs go unmet. We were burned out and, sadly, eventually needed to seek out of home placement for our daughter. I felt like a complete failure.

Building The Expertise.

So I made it my mission to gain understanding and education on the ramifications of trauma on children with abandonment wounds.

I started by reading books and then began to attend trainings through various professional organizations. I was mentored and I later received my practitioner certification through Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI).

As my knowledge and understanding of trauma and attachment challenges grew, I wanted to help other families struggling with trauma's effects on their adopted children and their entire family.

I became a therapeutic respite provider for children with trauma histories. I developed an effective approach to breaking down walls to reach the hearts of children with trauma histories and attachment challenges. I coached their parents on changing their approach to disarm their child's fears so they could establish heathy connections. During the time I was a respite provider, I served almost 100 kids and their families. The approach I developed facilitated trust and healthy connections between those parents and their children.

In 2019 we closed the respite program and my primary focus became coaching.

Helping YOU Succeed.

By now, you are probably asking yourself, "what does this have to do
with me? I get it; I would be too...

The time and energy it takes to research and develop a system that works is a commodity that adoptive parents in the trenches don't have to invest.

You don't have extra time to attend all the trainings or go to Texas for five days to get a TBR certification, even if it was offered to parents.

Most adoptive parents will never have the experience of living with almost 100 kids with trauma histories, developing a program for them, and, through trial and error, figuring out what works and what doesn't, while simultaneously working with their parents to do the same. Nor will they have the opportunity to
work with a wonderful trauma-responsive, attachment-focused therapist, sitting in 4 - 6 sessions with her weekly, for five years as you learn from her.

I have done all this, which means you can take advantage of my investment and reap the benefits of my transformational program without having to do all the heavy lifting yourself!

Your Time Is Now.

Today, I have the honor of working with an amazing community of caring, committed action-taker parents (and grandparents) who lead the way in their family by becoming change agents.

And I want the same for you...

Imagine if you finally broke through...

What would happen if you could be a calming force rather than get sucked into the chaos once and for all?

What would your life look like if you had the ability to decode your child and get beneath behaviors to what is actually driving them?

How would things change if you didn't take things personally and could finally let go of the guilt you carry?

The next step is up to you. Click the button below to get started.

I am giving more respect and starting to get more respect in turn.
